XM Satellite Radio To Offer Programming Online For A Fee

XM Satellite Radio has announced the introduction of XM Radio Online, a premium Internet music service to debut in early October.

XM Radio Online subscribers will be able to listen to XM's commercial-free music channels and a variety of other XM content over the Internet for a monthly fee of $7.99.

XM Satellite Radio subscribers will receive a discounted rate for XM Radio Online of $3.99 a month. Consumers will be able to sign up for XM Radio Online via listen.xmradio.com.

XM's 2004 lineup includes more than 130 digital channels and costs $9.99 on a monthly subscription.

XM's competitor, SIRIUS Satellite Radio, already offers its programming via the Internet to existing customers as part of its monthly $12.95 package.
