XM Radio announced today that the company has suspended Gregg "Opie" Hughes and Anthony Cumia, hosts of "The Opie & Anthony Show" and ceased broadcast of the show for 30 days, effective immediately.
Their crime: according to Fox News: "XM Satellite Radio shock jocks Opie and Anthony apologized...for airing a homeless man's crude comments that he'd like to have sex with Condoleezza Rice and Laura Bush. The remarks were made on their show...by a guest the duo call Homeless Charlie. As the name of each woman came up, the guest said he would like to have sex with her -- using language not fit for print."
My Take on this Turkey: In promoting Opie & Anthony, XM said in January, 2006: "Beware, this is radio like you've never heard it before. Irreverent, uncensored, so good you won't want to stop listening. Featuring outrageous radio from Opie & Anthony..."
Yeah, except for that stuff that freaks out people who like...don't even listen.
