Now that you’ve filed your taxes and made a decision to give your personal finances a long-overdue makeover, you should know there are a wealth of radio programs and podcasts available to help you better understand your money, erasing debts, and how best to build your wealth.

Here are just a few examples of excellent programming available on radio, via Internet streams, and via podcasts. It is by far not a complete list but it will give you a starting point for finding advice that can make a big difference in your money management.

Money - the Big Picture

"Marketplace" comes in the form of three separate programs: "Marketplace", "Marketplace Morning Report" and "Marketplace Money". The programs are produced by American Public Media in association with the University of Southern California and feature news of business and personal money matters.

You can hear program in various cities (see website for list), online, or via podcasts. Visit marketplace.publicradio.org.

"The Motley Fool Radio Show" with Tom and David Gardner provides listeners with "...a motley mix of financial education, amusement and enrichment." The hosts are friendly and casual but, very money-savvy. This weekly show is aired on NPR stations (see list) and you can listen online at www.fool.com.

Money Gurus

Dave Ramsey’s motto is: "Beat Debt...Build Wealth". According to his website: "Dave Ramsey offers life-changing financial advice as host of the nationally syndicated radio program, 'The Dave Ramsey Show,' which is heard by more than 2 million listeners each week, on more than 300 radio stations throughout the United States."

To find a station in your area, visit www.daveramsey.com. The program is also available online and via mp3s or a podcast.

Ric Edelman is a financial planner. His website says: "Every week, Ric gives you comprehensive, educational advice that is both entertaining and useful — on investments, IRAs, retirement planning, mortgages, insurance, college planning, and much more!"

His program airs on Saturdays from 10 a.m. until noon, EST, and you can listen online (www.ricedelman.com). Plus, it's heard on the ABC Radio Networks. You can view specific stations at his website. Edelman is also available in an online audio mp3 archive. Visit: www.ricedelman.com.

For residents of the United Kingdom, they can tune into "MoneyHelp UK with Steve Rhode", a weekly radio show "...about money, credit and debt..." Rhode is the Chairman of Myvesta UK. The show is available as an on-demand streaming webcast or as an mp3 file. Visit myvesta.org.uk.

The Podcast Picks

Most folks have heard of Kiplinger's and this well-known source offers "Kiplinger's Personal Finance Podcast". You can stream each one or download at your discretion. Shows include: "...savings and investments, taxes, money management, home ownership and many other personal finance topics." Visit: www.podcastingnews.com.

"RealMoney Radio" with Jim Cramer is no longer on the air but mp3 podcasts of this well-known national money guru are available for online streaming or to download. Each podcast has a description to help you decide which ones to spend time listening to. Visit podcasts.yahoo.com.
