Among the many special guests who will share their personal recollections are Elvis are:
...Good friend Joe Esposito, who served as Elvis road manager and worked by his side for 17 years.
...Elvis friend and music producer Jerry Schilling, who accompanied Elvis to the White House to meet with President Nixon.
...Musicians John Wilkinson and James Burton, who played guitar with Elvis band for many years.
...and members of the American Studios House Band (who backed Elvis in Memphis in 1969 and 1973), The Imperials (who sang backup for Elvis during his return to Las Vegas in 1969 through the early 70s) and The Jordanaires, who sang with Elvis from the mid-50s through 1970 and who appeared in many of his films and on his gospel albums.
Other guests will include Elvis film co-stars Cynthia Pepper, Celeste Yarnell, Chris Noel and Suzanna Leigh; authors Louis Cantor, Stanley Oberst and Michael Bertrand; and Elvis music archivist Ernst Jorgensen.
In addition to special guests, on Monday, August 15 at 5 pm ET Elvis Radio will begin coverage of the 28th Annual Elvis Week Candlelight Vigil ceremony and procession, highlighted by Elvis Presley Enterprises CEO Jack Sodens welcoming remarks and an a cappella performance by legendary gospel group The Stamps.
