Dateline: 07/30/06

By Corey Deitz, About.com

August 1 marks the 25th anniversary of MTV's launch and four of its original VJs will commemorate the occasion on SIRIUS Satellite Radio.

DJs Mark Goodman, Nina Blackwood, Alan Hunter and Martha Quinn will host a two-hour SIRIUS special, "Big ‘80s Celebrates MTV at 25" on Tuesday, August 1 beginning at 10 am ET on SIRIUS' Big '80s stream, channel 8.

The four will share memories of MTV’s launch and play songs from the videos aired during MTV's first few hours of existence.

Goodman, Hunter, Blackwood and Quinn, along with the late J.J. Jackson, were the five original faces and voices of MTV when it debuted.

On SIRIUS, they have been reunited since May 2004 as on-air hosts on Big ‘80s. Jackson died suddenly on March 17, 2004.
