According to webopedia, "The U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act...deems copying of copyrighted music (with the exception of making a copy for your own use) as illegal."

And that is the premise RadioTracker operates under to allow users to stream practically any Internet radio station and automatically grab the music and write it to mp3 files for your iPod or any other digital player.

RadioTracker “rips” the music as it “listens” to the stations you choose either by: Genre, Favorites, or your “Wishlist”.

Finalized cuts are placed in separate folders by genre, artist, station if you choose or all in your main music directory.

RadioTracker has a built-in database of over 13,000 Internet radio stations (updatable) you can select from. You create your own Favorites list from the stations you’d like the software to rip from. If you select Wishlist mode, the program will monitor certain stations waiting for the songs you’re interested in. It can do this by relying on the additionally built-in database of over 77,000 artists.

Automatic Library Building

Once you start the software, RadioTracker will go out on its own and start recording your music. The program also seeks out and collects the appropriate mp3 tags and will display this information including album cover art, lyrics, and track-specific information in a built-in miniplayer which allows you information editing capabilities.

Recording Choices

Among it’s features, RadioTracker gives you the option of automatically adjusting and normalizing the volume of your tracks and selective fade in and out on each cut.

You can also tell RadioTracker to limit its outreach for audio either by how many stations to rip from at once, how much overall bandwidth, by data amount, or by time.

Create Ringtones

RadioTracker has a built-in ringtone creator: "The 'Ringtone' button launches an application that can convert a ripped track into a ringtone in just a few steps and load it onto your mobile phone. This feature is only available in Radiotracker's Platinum version," says the website.
