Today, the Katz Online Network was announced and its creators say it is by far the largest digital network to date.

The Katz Online Network, or KON, combines the resources of 1200 Clear Channel Radio and Katz affiliates along with independent Internet Radio stations.

The network says it will deliver 79 million sessions per month and a unique audience of almost 5 million listeners each week.

Many Strong Players

KON includes AM and FM streams from Clear Channel, Cumulus, Cox Radio, Emmis Communications, Entercom, Greater Media, Journal Broadcast Group, Nassau Broadcasting, Salem Broadcasting, Saga, and Bonneville.

Syndicated content will be provide by Air America Radio and independent Internet Radio streams will be provided by i.fm.com, 977music.com, accuradio.com, DI.fm, finetune.com, radioio.com, and smoothjazz.com.

Maximizing Online Reach for Advertisers

"The Katz Online Network represents the largest and most diverse group of rich media properties in existence today. This, combined with the ability for advertisers and agencies to ‘cherry pick’ their target demo and deliver their message directly to those people, is a truly unique and exceptional formula for success," according to Jordan Mendell, founder and CTO of Ando Media. Ando Media provides server-based audience metrics.

Monetized Streams Benefit Listeners

The launch of the Katz Online Network is yet another indication of just how important the streaming experience and content - no matter where it originates - has become to a continually evolving tech audience.

The more effectively online streams are monetized in the future, the larger the streaming foothold will become in web-accessed audio entertainment.
