Beginnings: Retired Marine Lieutenant Oliver North was born in San Antonio, Texas in 1943 and graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis in 1968. He served 22 years in the Marines.
Radio: North was the host of Common Sense With Oliver North, between 1995 and 2003 on the Radio America Network.
Television: North is still host of the Fox News Channel show, War Stories with Oliver North.
Claim To Fame: During the Regan administration, North came to prominence when he testified during the Iran-Contra hearings, a scandal where the administration was accused of funding freedom fighters in Central America by selling arms to Iran.
