In 1996, Sliwa was paired up with Ron Kuby for a show called "Monday Night Fights".
The chemistry between Sliwa and Kuby prompted WABC Program Director, Phil Boyce, to move them to mornings on WABC in May 2004.
Sliwa and Kuby lost their morning slot in November, 2007 when Citadel Broadcasting brought Don Imus back to radio to do mornings at WABC-AM.
Sliwa now does 9:00 p.m. - 1:00 a.m., Monday - Friday on WABC.
Claim to Fame: Sliwa is the founder of the crime fighting group, the "Guardian Angels" and was the target of 2 mob hits in 1992 of which he survived both, despite being shot during the second attempt. (After "Junior" Gotti was indicted for the attempted murder in July, 2004, Sliwa went into hiding temporarily.)
Awards: Curtis and Kuby were nominated in 2003 and 2004 by Radio and Records magazine as top talk show hosts of the year. They won the honor in 2004. Also nominated in 2003 by the NAB for a Marconi as local talk show hosts of the year.
