Personal:

Born on May 21, 1951 in New York City but grew up in the Minneapolis suburbs. Franken was an "A" student in high school and graduated Harvard University in 1973.

Radio: Al Franken was a founding air-personality on Air America Radio, the first liberal network. In early February, 2007 it was announced he would leave the network on Valentine's Day, February 14. He is now a U.S. Senator from Minnesota.

His most notable are "Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot", and "Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them"

Claim to Fame:

One of Saturday Night Live's original writers, 1975-1980. (He returned as a writer between 1985-1995.)
