The road continued to be bumpy for Air America Radio as it struggled toward being a healthy progressive radio network. Air America Radio had declared bankruptcy in Fall, 2006 and before that had dealt with a myriad of management changes.

As for Franken, his last show was Valentine’s Day, 2007. Franken is a funny guy but it didn’t translate well to Radio. My pick for his job was always Tom Leykis.

Notable 2007 Event
Gary Burbank to Leave Radio at Year's End
From news.enquirer.com: "Gary Burbank, WLW-AM’s longest current on-air personality, says he’ll retire when his contract expires Dec. 31. Burbank, who turns 66 in July, has talked about quitting radio since his failed attempt in national syndication in 1995...Burbank came to WLW-AM in 1981 as a morning host, after leaving a radio job in Louisville. He moved to afternoons a few years later."
