#2: The Hot 97 Tsunami Song Parody

When the WQHT (Hot 97) morning show played a crass parody song about the devastating Asian Tsunami, a backlash by listeners and the community resulted in apologies, suspensions, terminations, and check writing by parent company, Emmis Communications.

- - - Suspended for two weeks: Miss Jones, DJ Envy, and Tasha Hightower with salaries for that time redirected to Give2Asia.

- - - Fired: Todd Lynn and producer Rick Delgado.

- - - Check written: $1,000,000 million dollars given by Emmis to the Give2Asia relief charity. (ouch!)

Publicity for Hot 97: Priceless!
