September 22 - Radio DJ Known as "Rhino" Sentenced For Burglary, Stalking - Irontontribune.com in Ironton, Ohio, reported: "A local radio personality spent Wednesday night in jail after his defense attorney asked for more time before sentencing and a judge responded by terminating the man's bail...." 50-year-old James Steven Reinhardt - known on the air as "Rhino" - pleaded guilty in July to burglary and stalking. A woman in her 20s said he "...had been leaving pornographic material in the woman's car many times over a period of several months and had even broken into their house."
9. October 12 - Clear Channel Fires Two Radio Programmers For Taking Payola Clear Channel Communications announced the results of an internal investigation into allegations raised within a legal settlement between the New York State Attorney General, Eliot Spitzer, and Sony BMG. The settlement alleged that some Clear Channel Radio programmers engaged in illegal pay-for-play activities. After a thorough investigation, evidence of wrongdoing was found in two instances and those individuals have been dismissed from the company.
8. July 10 - Listener Arrested After Breaking Into Radio Station Via Fire Escape - From nzherald.co.nz: "Radio Hauraki listeners in Hawke's Bay got more than they expected this morning, when they heard a man who broke into the station tell the disc jockey he was not funny...A 29-year-old man was arrested after allegedly breaking into the studio."
7. May 13 - K-Rock DJ Goes to Prison For One Year Over Tax Evasion - John Marzulli in New York's Daily News reported: "Crazy Cabbie", a K-Rock DJ "...whose real name is Lee Mroszak, was sentenced to a year in prison...after he bragged about being a tax cheat on Howard Stern's radio show."
6. August 29 - Radio Personality Arrested After Prank - Jeremy Powell, also known as "Fat Kid" from 99X, Atlanta, was arrested after approaching a homeowner posing as a church representative looking to buy pornography so he could "clean up the neighborhood".
