Adam Carolla knows his way around electronic and digital media. He began his radio career as a character, Mr. Birchum, on KROQ's Kevin and Bean morning show. In 1995 he became co-host of Loveline, with Dr. Drew Pinsky where he honed his radio skills until 2005.

That year, he left the show to do his own morning program as a replacement for Howard Stern in 12 markets Infinity Radio had radio stations. His new show went on-the-air in January, 2006 until it was canceled in February, 2009.

Being Your Own Boss

Out of a job, he elected to be his own boss and turned to Podcasting. Adam Carolla's Podcast hit iTunes running and counted 250,000 downloads in the first 24 hours. In 2009 iTunes awarded the show "Rewind Award for Best Podcast of 2009." Today, The Adam Carolla Show is the most popular comedy podcast and second most popular overall podcast in the iTunes App Store.

Started from his home office, The Adam Carolla Show now touts 5 million downloads per month. With over 60 million downloads to date, the podcast pioneer remains a constant in the Top 10 of iTunes' Podcasts chart. The Adam Carolla Show holds the record for "Most Daily Downloaded Online Show" with one episode being downloaded 550,000 times.

Carolla's own podcast is opinionated and at times has caused controversies. In April, 2010 Carolla inflamed Filipinos with his comments about Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao and the Philippines in general. Then, in August, 2011 Carolla drew the ire of gays and lesbians over comments about transgenders. More recently, Carolla railed against the Occupy movement in a video (of his audio) that went viral.

Parallel to Carolla's radio and podcasting work, he has also been featured on various TV programs like The Man Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live, and Dancing with the Stars.

Being Your Own Cottage Industry

Adam Carolla's success with his own podcast spawned many more podcasts under the umbrella of Carolla Digital including: including ACE On The House, For Crying Out Loud, CarCast, This Week With Larry Miller, Life Lessons with Jim Carolla and the newly launched Penn’s Sunday School with Penn Jillette as well as Alison Rosen Is your New Best Friend.
