Guide Review - AudioSpin Streaming Media Recorder
But, the registered version does comes with a large database of stations, over 11,000 at this writing, which is substantial.
The pop-up menu system let's you quickly select the genre and then specific stations within it. You can also search for stations or pull up previously listened to streams.
The AudioSpin interface looks like a lengthwise oval. Select "Power" to activate it and then the station you want to listen to. You can record the whole session or if you're not recording but hear a track you want to preserve, selecting "Capture" will grab the whole track from the beginning.
The "Options" menu item allows you to configure your favorites, location of recordings and in which format (MP3 or WMA), and the minimum kbps for stations you want displayed.
The registered version is $19.95 and you can download a limited free trial at www.ellipsatech.com
AudioSpin Media Recorder won't dazzle you with bells and whistles, but it is basic enough to provide an almost endless array of Internet stations to listen to with an easy way to record the audio you want.
