By either account, this guy makes Christian Bale seem reasonable. At least Bale didn’t shoot anyone during his famous tirade. I think what angers people the most about Burke’s dangerous and emotionally-fueled bad behavior is bringing the dog into it.
I’m a dog lover. I think I might even like dogs better than people because they often exhibit better qualities than many people I’ve met. You want to shoot your spouse? Well, unfortunately domestic violence is a fact of life and I’m a little desensitized. You want to shoot your dog? Now you’ve got my attention.
I don’t think we need more gun laws – but maybe a few more dog laws would help. Let’s start with one that requires a 3-day waiting period before radio personalities can buy dogs – just to make sure they’re not “shoot-a-dog-in-the-paw-crazy”.
