Each program began with the famous line, "It's a bird! It's a plane! It's Superman!"
The man who uttered those famous words on radio during the 1940s - Radio's Golden Age - was Jackson Beck.
Beck passed away this past Wednesday, July 28, at age 92.
In addition to his famous role as the announcer for Radio's "Superman" series, Beck was also the voice of "Bluto" in over 300 Popeye cartoons and provided character voices in other projects including many famous television commercials.
