Personal: Chris Tarrant was born in 1946 in Reading, England. Tarrant began his professional life as a teacher but sequed into broadcast media.
TV: In 1974, Tarrant began in television as a host of a children's Saturday morning TV show called "Tiswas". He is also known for "Tarrant On TV" and for hosting "Who Wants to be a Millionaire".
Radio: Tarrant joined 95.8 Capital FM Radio in 1987 and hosted the Capital Breakfast Show until April 2, 2004.
He returned to radio from June, 2008 until July, 2009 as host of a weekly Saturday morning show for the GMG Radio network.
Awards: In 2001, he received a Sony Award for his "unique relationship with his listeners".
