The Bottom Line

radioSHARK is a joy to use. I love a product that sets up easily, performs flawlessly and delivers what it promsies. radioSHARK records AM and FM radio from your local radio stations. The software application it comes with has a familiar interface that emulates a radio dial. You can record live, schedule a recording, and timeshift (go backwards). Plus, it has just enough extra features to keep most users of either a MAC or PC content with their investment.
Pros
  • Easy to setup, plug and play, clear helpful manual
  • Visually pleasant to look at, sleek and well designed
  • Software is easy to understand and use
  • Hardware has small footprint, fits anywhere
  • Many features included you would expect for this type of product
Cons
  • Records in .wma and wav formats but oddly, not .mp3

Guide Review - radioSHARK Records AM/FM Radio With Ease And Style

radioSHARK is one of those products that delivers a lot in a seemingly small package. It's a software/hardware combination which is designed to record AM and FM radio programming from your local radio stations - or at least the stations you can pick up in your area.

Installation is very easy and once you install the software and plug radioSHARK in to your computer via a USB port, it's up and running. I found the process hassle-free and really didn't even need the manual.

The software interface looks similar to a radio dial and you can use your mouse to manually tune to the station you want or use the "seek" function which will seek out the next strongest signal. Other features include volume control, presets and EQ preferences.

radioSHARK will record live as you're listening with the click of your mouse or you can schedule recordings to occur at any time for any length. You can also choose the quality of recording which may or may not be an issue depending on your harddrive space.

radioSHARK does look somewhat like a "fin" and it's sleek, slim and takes up very little room. It could fit on the most crowded desktop.
