Success on weekends brought a promotion to afternoon drive within a year.
In 1993, the President of ABC heard Lionel and offered him a job in New York at WABC where he eventually moved to mornings.
In Fall of 1996, Lionel was moved to WABC's afternoons, but was moved back to mornings in December 1997.
Beginning in January, 2000, Lionel's program became syndicated by the WOR Radio Network.
In May 2007, Lionel joined Air America Radio.
In May 2009, Air America Media began syndicating "The Lionel Show", airing 6 - 9 a.m. ET.
His show ended on January 25, 2010 when Air America shut down.
Lionel is now doing commentary on WPIX-TV/New York.
Claim to Fame: Replaced Bob Grant on WABC when Grant was fired.
Awards: Selected as one of Talkers Magazine's "100 Most Important Talk Show Hosts".
