Radio: Mitchell is a presenter on XFM, Manchester where he is host of the morning show, 6 - 10 .am. Mitchell is also the host of a show called "Razor Cuts" which is heard on the XFM network on Sunday evenings.
Mitchell began his Radio career in 1986 as a sports commentator for Red Rose Radio in Lancashire, England.
In 1989 he went to Piccadilly Radio which became Key 103. While there, Mitchell developed a show called "IQ" which featured indie bands coming our of Manchester during the early 1990s.
During the nineties, he met Geoff Lloyd, a budding writer, comedian and fellow radio presenter and in 1996 Key 103 put the two on afternoons.
In 1999, Virgin Radio hired "Pete and Geoff" to do the weekday evening show. They also did fill-in for Chris Evans on the Breakfast Show.
In 2002, "Pete and Geoff" were moved to the Drivetime Show and then to the station's Breakfast Show in 2003.
In November, 2005 they announced they would be splitting up and leaving the Breakfast Show. Lloyd stayed with Virgin Radio and Mitchell went over to BBC Radio 2.
Mitchel remained there until May 2009. On June 15, 2008 Mitchel began on the XFM Breakfast Show. Michell now is host for "Razor Cuts", a weekly alternative music show on Sunday evenings.
Awards Mitchell has been honored with several Sony Radio Awards.
