Radio: Simpson has worked in Washington, D.C. for most of his career. His morning show aired on WPGC-FM from March 11, 1993 until January 29, 2010.
Simpson got into Radio at age 15 working at WJLB in Detroit, Michigan.
In 1977 he moved to Washington, D.C. and hooked up with WRC-FM where he did mornings and served as Program Director.
Television: Simpson was tapped in 1983 to host BET's Video Soul program which he continued with until 1997.
Awards: Billboard magazine's "Program Director of the Year", "1998 Air Personality of the Year," Black Radio Exclusive’s "Drummer Award" and was nominated for the National Radio Hall of Fame
Claim to Fame: Simpson was the first non-syndicated radio personality in an Urban format to earn over 1 million dollars-a-year.
