Radio: - On March 14, 2001 "Eddie and Jobo" became the new morning show on WJMK-FM/Chicago which modified its format to "Classic Hits" (60s, 70s, and 80s).
Prior to that Volkman and Bohannon did mornings at WBBM-FM/Chicago until they were unexpectedly let go near the end of 2008.
Prior to being fired in 2008 during a cost-cutting sweep, "Eddie & JoBo" were being paid in excess of $1 million dollars-a-year.
Bohannon and Volkman had a rocky relationship with WBBM-FM. In 1994 they were fired for defamatory allegations made about a local TV host, Joan Esposito. She sued and eventually won a public apology and settlement said to be $1 million dollars.
Although WBBM-FM tried to replace Eddie and JoBo, ratings declined. Finally in about a year later the team was re-hired under the condition the show be subject to a series of checks, delays, and oversight by management.
By Mid-2002, the team was doing so well in the ratings, a rival station tried to hire them away and WBBM-FM reacted by offering the two a 6 year $21 million dollar contract.
Prior to teaming up Bohannon had been working evenings at the station since 1984 and Volkman was doing mornings beginning in 1986. In 1988, Bohannon was moved to mornings to join Bohannon.
In June 2010, Bohannon and Volkman were hired to work on WLS-AM/Chicago doing a new Saturday evening show from 7 until 9 p.m.
Claim to Fame: They referred to their listeners as "The World's Most Dangerous Audience" because of the audience participation in a lot of their stunts and bits.
