Myth: As a young wireless operator, it was David Sarnoff (later the head of RCA, Radio Corporation of America), who received the final transmissions from the sinking Titanic.
Truth: There is no evidence to this and Sarnoff is not mentioned in any news accounts of the time. This was a myth Sarnoff promoted about himself.
