Radio: He spent most of 1998 working at Wish FM - a local station serving Wigan & St Helens.
After Wish FM, he joined the Century Group in December 1998 where he worked at both their Nottingham and Manchester stations presenting various evening and weekend shows.
Wes worked at Galaxy 105-106 in Newcastle, from January 2000 to November 2002, presenting their mid-morning show. In addition he fill-in on the breakfast show and was also the Head of Music for the station.
Butters hosted The Official Chart Show on the BBC's Radio 1 between late 2002 and early 2005. He left BBC Radio 1 in February of 2005
Upon leaving BBC Radio 1, Butters established a Podcasting company with fellow broadcaster Daryl Denham.
In October 2005, Butters went on-the-air with Galaxy Manchester, leaving the group in 2007.
Since 2008, Butters has done fill in for various presenters and on a variety of shows.
Awards: Butters is a recipient of the Silver Sony Award for Best Breakfast Show plus an Arqiva nomination for Best UK Presenter
