Being on the Radio, whether as a music DJ or a controversial talk-show host, exposes you to many thousands or even millions of people each day. Every once-in-a-while, one of them decdes they just hate you - for whatever reason - and takes matters into their own hands. Here's a list of just some violent acts against people with a Radio connection.

June 29, 1978: Bob Crane, the star of TV's "Hogan's Heroes", actually was first successful as a Los Angeles DJ on KNX 1070. He was mysteriously murdered in a Scottsdale, Arizona hotel room in 1978.

August, 1982: Bob Cooke from KWFM-FM, Tucson, was murdered by a fan. A woman killed him in a parking lot of a Tucson night club after he had finished a show there. He was 28.

June 18, 1984: Controversial Denver Radio host, Alan Berg, was gunned down in the driveway of his townhome by "The Order," a White Power/Aryan movement. (The movie, "Talk Radio" was loosely based on this story. See below)

June 5, 1997: Detroit disc jockey Tom Margellar Jr. was murdered by his wife's brother after Margellar argued with her. Margellar was bludgeoned to death with a crowbar.

April 11, 2001: Witayudh Saengsopit, a popular host of a political program in Southern Thailand, was shot and killed by gunmen on his way into the building to prepare a morning broadcast.

September 12, 2001: Al Moss, a Miami Hip-Hop DJ also known as "Uncle Al" and "Uncle Peace", was shot to death upon answering the door to his home, where he lived with another DJ. It later turned out that the gunmen shot Moss by mistake, thinking he was the other DJ who lived there.

November 6, 2001: William Cooper, a talk-show host on the Worldwide Christian Radio out of Nashville was killed in a shootout with an Apache County Sheriff's deptury in Arizona. (This was actually criminal matter and the killing occurred during an encounter with the law. It's listed here simply because of the violence involved in the situation)

December, 2001: Jack Merker, 63, a former News Director and Program Director from San Diego was choked to death by Erik Wright and left bound and gagged in the laundry room of a home in Palm Springs.

October 30, 2002: Aristelle Thomas, known as "Air Alert", shot and slashed a rival Disc Jockey named, "DJ Biz", outside his Radio station in Latham, New York.

February 17, 2003: Nan Wyatt, A St. Louis Radio personality, was found shot to death in the bedroom of her home. Her husband was charged with the murder.

December 4, 2003: Lafollette, Tennessee DJ Jerry Monday and his wife were found dead in their home. An apparent murder/suicide.

December 12, 2003: Roger McCall, a long-time DJ on WCMF-FM, Rochester, New York, was fatally wounded by a gunshot in a robbery attempt.

April 10, 2004: Memphis DJ, Rebecca Glahn, known on-air at Q107.5 FM as "Madison" (WHBQ-FM), was strangled in her apartment in a random act of violence associated with a robbery.

January 21, 2007: Brisbane, Australia radio announcer Brian Heathcote, was beaten to death on his way home after drinking at a nearby hotel.

June 28, 2007: Former KIRO/Seattle radio talk-show host, Mike Webb, was found stabbed to death in his home. Webb worked for KIRO-AM for 7 years.

March 23, 2008: Longtime WABC radio newsman, George Weber, was found dead in bed, the apparent victim of a stabbing.

March 27, 2011: - Former Hot 97/New York radio personality, DJ Megatron, was found dead in the Clifton area of Staten Island, New York. Megatron was the apparent victim of a gunshot wound to the chest.

May 10, 2012 - Radio host, April Kauffman, was found shot to death in her Linwood, New Jersey home. Kauffman had worked for WIBG and WOND. She was 47.
