England's BBC has always been a towering presence, providing the British people with many genres of radio listening. During World War II, it provided a link to those who needed encouragement and information. In the 1960s, it was challenged by offshore pirate broadcaster who in their own way, forced the BBC to change and update itself...and that's just the beginning.
