Progressive talk-formatted Democracy Radio, in association with Jones Radio Networks, has announced the addition of three new markets: Detroit, Washington, D.C. and Cincinnati.

Beginning tomorrow The Ed Schultz Show will be carried live from 3:00 – 6:00pm on WXDX in Detroit, WCKY in Cincinnati, and WWRC in Washington, D.C. The Stephanie Miller Show will be on WWRC from 9:00am-12:00 noon.

“This is great news for Ed Schultz and Stephanie Miller, who are setting the standard in the new format of progressive talk,” said Democracy Radio CEO Tom Athans.

Democracy Radio says Ed Schultz is “the most widely carried liberal on radio”. He's been called “an overnight sensation” by the Washington Post. Broadcasting out of Fargo, N.D., Ed recently celebrated his first year on the air. He is currently heard in 6 of the top 10 radio markets.

Stephanie Miller joined Democracy Radio in September.

Democracy Radio makes it a point to say the network does not purchase airtime on local affiliates and does not pay local stations to carry its content. The programming is syndicated to radio stations through traditional, mutual arrangements.
