Sometimes, the price of publicity is too high. Two former Little Rock radio personalities are now facing felony charges for allegedly distributing hardcore pornography on DVD to bystanders during a Gay Pride parade in Conway, Arkansas.

Phillip Beard 23, also known as “Phlip Satchel”, and Chris Brown, 47, are both facing charges which each carry 1-5 years in prison and fines up to $2,000.

Arrest warrants were issued by a court after a probable cause hearing was held Wednesday. The two DJs were contacted and told to turn themselves in. Beard and Brown were part of a the “Morning Buzz”, heard on KABZ-FM, 103.7. Two other show members, Stanley Knox and Justin Acri, were not charged in the incident.

Beard and Brown are accused of distributing the pornography to a 16-year-old boy.

A complaint was filed by the sponsors of the parade on June 30. Police began an investigation on July 1 after Fox 16 News (KLRT-TV) aired a report of the incident which featured an interview with the boy and video of Beard handing the pornography to him.

Signal Media President Phillip Jonsson said in a written statement, “I regret the embarrassing incident that involved some members of the Morning Buzz crew.”

The “Morning Buzz” radio program was suspended on July 1.
