Seattle Radio Listeners Create Website to Have Andy Savage Returned to Airwaves

Dateline: 5/23/05

Before there was email, the Web, and the Internet there were few powerful ways for disgruntled radio listeners to rally others around a cause - like expressing dismay for a favorite radio personality being fired or taken off-the-air. Not so anymore with today's communication tools.

Earlier this month, Seattle radio listeners loyal to "The Andy Savage Morning Show" launched the website: bringbackandysavage.com.

The site is designed and built with the intention of bringing this radio team back to local Seattle airwaves. Site visitors can send petition style email to Infinity Broadcasting sharing their disapproval of the sudden change from KRQI-FM (K-Rock) to 96.5 JACK-FM, a "Jack" formatted station that features more music and lower-key DJs.

Forms have been designed to send requests to local and national advertisers to spend their advertising dollars on The Andy Savage Morning Show (still under contract to Infinity Broadcasting)

Additionally a boycott request is being made to Seattle radio listeners, with the intention of causing low advertising on the new "JACK-FM" station.

Savage is basically being paid to not work and stay off-the-air, at least for the moment. He reports at his website, "I've gotten into the habit of watching a ton of movies til 4 in the morning, then sleeping in 'til 10am."
