It's about time. Morse Code may be nostalgic to hard-core Ham Radio operators, but it's quite outdated and unnecessary to enjoy the hobby.
From fyrtv.com: "The Federal Communications Commission is dropping a requirement for amateur radio operators to learn Morse Code in order to get a license in an effort to open the ham radio world to more people. That change has sparked some controversy. Some ham radio operators don`t like the changes in the licensing requirements, while others hope the changes will get more people involved in ham radio."
