43-year-old radio personality, Shannon Burke shot at his dog and hit his wife. Burke, from the "Shannon Burke Show" on WTKS, was having an argument with his wife about the dog and how to care for it when he threatened to shoot it with his gun. He pulled the trigger and a .40 caliber bullet went through the dog's leg and then hit is wife, Catherine, in the head. - 2009

The BBC had to apologize for a "joke" by Danny Kelly, afternoon host on BBC WM, a radio station located in central England. Apparently, he told his audience that Queen Elizabeth II had died while playing the national anthem in the background. Bad idea? Yep. Kelly was suspended for a week. - 2010

Former Tribune Co. CEO Randy Michaels issued a list of 119 words and phrases which should never be spoken on WGN-AM/Chicago by anchors or reporters. Included on the list: "Alleged", "area residents", "campaign trail", "diva", "incarcerated", "perfect storm", "reportedly", "untimely death", and "you folks". - 2010
