This past Friday morning (9/26/03) '80s Radio hitmaker, Robert Palmer, suddenly died of a heart attack while in Paris, France. Palmer, 54, was best known for " "Simply Irresistible", and "Addicted To Love", "Bad Case of Lovin' You" and "I Didn't Mean to Turn You On". Palmer was born Alan Palmer in 1949 in Batley, Yorkshire, England.

His career began in the late 1960s when, at age 15, he played with a band called, "Mandrake Paddle Steamer". After a series of other bands, Palmer emerged a solo artist in 1974 with the acclaimed, "Sneakin' Sally Through The Alley" album featuring a title song of the same name. Palmer's first U.S. hit was in 1979 when "Bad Case of Lovin You" went to #14 in the United States. (It was #61 in the U.K.)

In 1986, he scored a worldwide hit with "Addicted To Love" (listen to a short clip) which he followed with "I Didn't Mean To Turn You On", both from his "Riptide" Album.
