On Thursday, a bomb threat forced the evacuation of NewstalkZB's facility in Auckland, New Zealand, according to the New Zealand Herald. The incident took place during the Paul Holmes morning show.

After police sniffer dogs found no indication of any device, employees were allowed to re-enter the facility.

Holmes, one of New Zealand's highest paid and well-known Radio broadcasters, created a storm of controversy earlier this week with comments he made concerning United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan. BBC News reports Holmes told his audience:

"That Kofi Annan, I've got to say to you, has been a very cheeky darkie overnight..."

"He's been a very cheeky darkie. It's all very well giving a darkie that secretary-general job but we'll only take so much. I'm sorry, we will only take so much.

"We're not going to be told how to live our lives by a Ghanaian."

Holmes' comments were condemned by various groups and individuals including the Government Race Relations Commissioner, Joris de Bres, and Prime Minister Helen Clark.

Holmes later apologized on-the-air for the remarks and Theage.com.au reports NewstalkZB general manager, Bill Francis, would take no further action against the broadcaster.
