Every cell of sixties pop music is recognized through special features or, in it's own right as a stand-alone (i.e., the 17 minute version of “Inagadadavida”). Nothing is ommited from the decade. The result is a sound which is more locally reminiscent of what more people heard when the lived in the time. A comfort sound with breathing room in the rotation. Radio is supposed to go the extra mile and make the human difference. Technology offers so many mediums as alternative choices. Listeners are conditioned by habit but given these choices, often opt to just purchase a collection of CDs rather than listen to a redundant sampling of songs from three or four decades.

Corey: For XM Satellite Radio to be successful, you have to convince people to pay to 1) install special equipment and 2) pay a monthly fee.  It works with cable and satellite TV.  Is it working with Satellite Radio?  How many subscribers do you have now?

Cleveland: XM is on track to reach 200,000 by the end of September and 350,000 by year's end. Exciting new products are forthcoming that will put consumers in orbit. We live in a time when technology is almost an addiction. Pagers, beepers, fax machines, cell phones, the internet, high definition television and home satellite TV People are always looking for the ultimate in entertainment and convenience. Consumers are increasingly proving that they will gladly pay for superior product and the quality delivery of that product. In the case of XM, the monthly fee is only 9.99 per month and you get 100 digital channels of diverse programming anywhere in the continental United States. To me, it is easy to justify the price of the service when I put it next to the cost of cable TV, cell phone service or internet access - even the price of a mediocre one topping pizza.
