The Associated Press is reporting Art Bell, the host who turned overnight Radio into an asylum for UFOs and Ghosts, is coming out of retirement for a weekend gig hosting the show he founded.
Fans of Bell will soon hear him again on "Coast to Coast AM". He'll replace Barbara Simpson who had been handling those duties Saturday and Sunday, 1-5AM EDT.
Meanwhile, George Noory, who became the full-time host of Coast to Coast AM in January of this year, has signed a long-term contract with Premiere Radio Networks.
"I'm extremely excited about the long term prospects for Coast to Coast AM and the confidence that Premiere's management has demonstrated in me," said Noory. "None of this would have happened without the tremendous support of our affiliates and faithful listeners."
Coast to Coast AM with Noory airs live Monday-Friday from 1-5 a.m. ET with a refeed from 5-6 a.m. ET on 475 stations.
Prior to joining Premiere, Noory was the host of a late-night radio program on KTRS-St. Louis similar to Coast to Coast AM. Known as "the Nighthawk," listeners in five states regularly tuned in to hear Noory discuss unexplained phenomena. With an extensive broadcast career spanning 33 years, Noory is the proud recipient of three Emmy Awards.
