(more) More email from visitors to this site about Opie and Anthony: Ron Cooley: "Opie and Anthony dared challenge this one last bastion of political correctness, where thinking people are supposed to feign ignorance. I applaud their efforts! Yes, they used what many consider a tasteless stunt, but a stunt less extreme wouldn't have gotten people to think and talk about these issues. This need to be outrageous and risk offending people in order to make a point is why we have a First Amendment guaranteeing free speech. I await their return to the air." Chris: "I think it's kind of funny, the catholic church got O & A fired for contest/ stunt on getting people to have sex in a church. O or A did do it, some couple did it. But I guess the best is that catholic priests can rape young boys and get away with it. Go figure. So sex in a church is bad, Catholic Priests having sex with boys acceptable, this is the message the FCC is giving. And I'm not the only one who thinks this. Today I'm embarrassed to say I'm Catholic, I will never step foot in a Catholic Church again. Bernie Norman: "i think the firing of opie & anthony is rediculous, they did the same show b4 & had no problems with it so why a problem this time? i for 1 hope they get hired again soon so i can continue to listen to them, i dont agree with everything they do but they are entertaining. i dont think they told the couple to go to the church to do it so why should they have to lose thier jobs over it? the couple that did it are the ones responsible for what happened so they should be the only people to have to pay for it." Chuck: "Yeah ok so it was wrong, fine them,PUT THEM BACK ON THE AIR, ON WITH THE SHOW those Guys Are Great!!!!!!!!" Jan: "Well....maybe they did go a little too far. but so haven't all the catholic priests accused of child abuse/rape. I do agree with a listener who said the church is just trying to redirect the attention they have been getting. I live in the Boston area where this problem has been hugely exposed. I do not think they should have cancelled the show. I listened every day and looked forward to it. The whole problem here is the catholic religion from which I defected from years ago. I am very happy I did....they are the real problem, not just a couple of regular guys who are trying to make people laugh, which we could all do more of these days." - Corey Deitz |
