The New York Daily News is reporting that WNEW-FM, former home of "Opie and Anthony", has replaced the recently fired duo - at least temporarily - with Tom Leykis, a Los Angeles-based talk show host. Leykis' style and choice of content is so different from O&A, there can be no way he will be viewed as a suitable replacement for fans still tuning in with the hopes of a reprieve for Opie and Anthony. By the way, the New York Daily News, in its latest update, is calling the guys "WNEW's shock jerks".

Also on Friday, a small group of about 80 fans gathered outside Infinity Broadcasting's corporate offices on Seventh Avenue and 57th Street to protest the Opie and Anthony's dismissal. Infinity is the parent company of WNEW-FM.

Your Radio Guide has received a lot more reaction from this site's visitors and here are some of those comments.

L. J. Simoes: "Thank you! I'm tired of all this disgusting 'play acting' on radio and television. WNEW has done us a great service by ending their program. I believe in free speech, but let's draw the line, please!"

Mike: Ok, priests can violate young boys all they want, but Opie and Anthony get canned for a man and a woman having sex in a church? What is wrong with this country? O and A were the funniest thing going on the radio today. I used to listen to Howard Stern all the time, but his antics seem tiring and he seems to have lost some of the edge he used to have. O and A were fresh and edgy and they were a good laugh."

Lou: "...no they didn't go to far. you people are treating them like little babies. that couple can make their own decisions and that decision they made and got caught for is not o and a's responsibility.. its like we are all back in grade school you blame everything on someone else. grow up... "
