Netscape's Music Channel

If you're a fan of Spinner.com and the webcasts it offers, you'll soon notice a change if you haven't already done so. Spinner.com is moving to Netscape and will be integrated into that website under a new name: Radio@Netscape Plus. The new name also means a newly revamped player and web site for the old Spinner.com but the good news is they promise you will still have the "same great stations programmed by the same people".

In an FAQ posted at the Spinner.com site, the company has tried to clear up questions for users. First, you won't have to use the Netscape browser in order to use Radio@Netscape Plus. It's a stand-alone program and it Radio@Netscape Plus is a free service. The new player still has the Spinner features but has a new design which claims to have better station navigation plus includes programming not before available on Spinner. This includes local radio stations, AP News and sports streams.

If you want to try out Radio@Netscape Plus, there's a beta release of the new player that you can download. Note, though that if you install the beta, it will uninstall your version of Spinner and you will lose your preset stations. Mac and Linux users will be offered an updated version of the Spinner Station Sampler.
