SIRIUS Sets A Standard
Satellite Radio Revolutionzes Listening Experience
In a recent article, I told you of my experience installing the Kenwood Here2Anywhere Portable SIRIUS Satellite Tuner and Kenwood KPA-H2C car adapter kit. In a nutshell, it was easy and relatively fast. But, I'm not the only one who thinks so. In a survey conducted by Crutchfield Corporation in October, 2002, 98% of SIRIUS customers agreed the technology was "easy" or "very easy" to use. (Spacedaily.com 12/02/02)

Soon after completing my auto installation, the home version of the Kenwood adapter kit arrived, allowing me to easily move the Here2Anywhere between car and office study.

Having access to SIRIUS Satellite Radio's programming is like owning every good CD in the world. SIRIUS has a song library of 500,000 tunes. This music is spread across 60 diverse, commercial-free channels including Pop, Rock, Country, Hip-Hop, R&B, Dance, Jazz/Standards, Classical, and Variety.

I have spent the last couple of weeks just listening. My personal favorites are "The Rock" - classic rock, "Octane" - modern rock, "The Bridge" - Mellow Rock, and "60s Vibrations" - best of the '60s.

Of course, with 60 channels (many hosted by "stream jockeys"), you have the luxury of having favorites with the constant power of choice. That is a winning combination.

Oh Wow!

What makes SIRIUS' programming so good (besides being commercial free) is their "risk-taking" attitude. The majority of commercial Radio plays it safe all the time. Music Directors usually opt to play the "familiar" tunes. Deep cuts and much new music is looked on with suspicion.

But, on SIRIUS - at least on every channel I listened to - I heard not only what I expected (the familiar and proven) but also those songs which make you say, "Oh Wow! I haven't heard that FOREVER!" You hardly get that in commercial Radio - which I suspect is probably why SIRIUS provides it. (more)
