Loop Recorder isn't much to look at but, it does deliver an easy way to record Internet Radio stations, other forms of streaming audio from the Internet or any audio signal your sound card can play.

This shareware application is unique in that it will not only allow you to record audio continuously, but it will also let you record a loop of audio, for the specified amount of time you wish (although, offhand I can't really think of a reason why I would need that.)

Loop Recorder doesn't have a scheduler so you can begin recording and end at a certain time but, it does have a timer which allows you to begin recording and then at specified intervals, you can choose to close the app, enter idle mode, restart continuous mode, restart continuous mode and include a filename or stay in loop mode.

The software does include a functioning peak level meter so you can monitor the strength of the signal you are recording. But, the real surprise in this application is the built-in sound editor. Although it's simple, it does afford the user a quick way to edit recorded audio before saving to a file. I find this very convenient.

Loop Recorder gives you the ability to record your files in .mp3, .wav, .ogg or .wma formats. You can also specify particular file parameters for recording quality and the file length limit.

You can download a 30-day trial of Loop Recorder from the developer's website. The registered version is $18.71 U.S. currency.

A Chart is available here to compare features of this product with other similar products that record streaming audio.
