According to XM President and CEO, Hugh Panero, "XM has broken the tether to the television during this time of national uncertainty. Just as cable and satellite TV have become invaluable news resources, XM has fast become an indispensable, real-time information service provider to our mobile society.
XM offers 12 channels of news and information covering national, world, business, financial and technology developments. XMs programming staff generates some of the information and the rest is provided by Fox News, CNN, CNN Headline News, CNBC, ABC News & Talk, Bloomberg, BBC World Service and C-SPAN. These news and information channels make up a portion of XM's lineup of 101 channels.
XM had 360,000 subscribers as of January, 2003 and predicts it will exceed 1 million by the end of this year.
