America Online recently introduced Broadband Radio@AOL, an enhanced, built-in radio service for AOL's broadband subscribers.

The service offers 125 commercial-free stations with CD quality. The stations, themselves, provide a mixture of programming. Some is produced in-house by AOL, some comes from regional terrestrial radio stations, celebrity guest programming and

Broadband Radio@AOL's mix of programming includes professionally produced in-house programming, celebrity guest programming and live streams from regional terrestrial radio stations, and still more comes from Internet-based audio services.

Broadband Radio@AOL is the first product powered by AOL's new Ultravox (TM) technology, a streaming platform developed by AOL. America Online the new technology provides quicker player load times and dramatically reduces buffering.

  • CD-quality sound (128 kbps) on more than 125 stations
  • A completely redesigned interface that builds on the new look and feel of AOL 8.0
  • Commercial free listening without banner advertising
  • Access to live streams from leading terrestrial radio and online partners, such as AP News, KCRW, WDST, WOXY, KPIG, WFMU and sportingnews.com
  • Reduced buffering for faster loading of both radio stations and songs
  • More contextual links to AOL Music Search
  • "Album Art" is displayed on the player for the music currently
  • "Now Playing" information that displays the current artist and song playing on any station by simply mousing over each station
  • "Coming Up" feature that displays the name of an artist that is scheduled to be played within the next half hour of listening
