Radio Rules in “Grand Theft Auto: Vice City”
If Only Rockstargames.com Ran Real Stations!
“Grand Theft Auto: Vice City” is not only a non-stop, action rampage for any criminal-wannabe, but it also turns out to be a video game with great Radio stations! As a matter of fact, each car a player steals offers 8 nicely programmed choices with formats that should satisfy most anyone's music preferences.

“Wildstyle” is an old-school rap station featuring acts like 2 Live Crew, Run DMC and Kurtis Blow.

“Flash” is and '80s station featuring the likes of Wang Chung, Hall & Oates, Laura Branigan and Joe Jackson.

If you want to boost cars and listen to talk Radio, you can hear “K-Chat”.

“Fever 105” presents a mix of R&B and Pop with such cuts as Michael Jackson's “Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'”, Evelyn 'Champagne' King's “Shame”, and groups like the Whispers and Kool & The Gang.

If you're idea of the fast and furious is longhair bands from the 1980s, then “VRock” is your station featuring Twisted Sister, Motley Crue, Ozzy Osbourne, Iron Maiden and Quiet Riot, to name a few.

But, the selection just gets better. “Radio Espantoso” will really give you that Miami feel with Cuban/Latin sounds from musicians like Xavier Cugat & His Orchestra, Alpha Banditos, and Tito Puente and His Orchestra.

“Emotion 98.3” is a soft-rock offering with a variety of artists like Toto, John Waite, Jan Hammer (performing a very Miami Vice-like “Crockett's Theme”) and others.

But, “Wave 103” is my absolute favorite. There's nothing more fun on a warm, criminal-ridden Southern Florida night than tooling around in a stolen sports car bouncing your head to “Cars” by Gary Numan and “Hyperactive” by Thomas Dolby.

It makes you wonder, why can't REAL Radio be as good as the stations in “Grand Theft Auto: Vice City”?

If you don't own the game or haven't seen it in action yet, you can still catch some free previews of the Radio stations by going to ViceCityRadio.com. That link, with some others, is in the linkbox.
