On this day in 1958, the first radio broadcast from space occured when President Dwight D. Eisenhower said "To all mankind, America's wish for Peace on Earth & Good Will to Men Everywhere".

On this day in 2004, a single-engine Cessna 182 crashed into the KFI-AM radio tower knocking the station off-the-air for an hour and killing the two people in the plane.
