Personal: Wendy grew up in the Wayside area of Ocean Township, New Jersey and now resides in Northern New Jersey. She's married to Kevin Hunter who she has a son with, born in 2000. As for age, Williams will only say she was born somewhere between 1960 and 1965. Williams earned a Bachelor's Degree in Communications from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts.
Radio:
Williams interned at Kiss 108 in Boston on the Matt Siegel morning show.
After graduation, she went to work for WVIS, St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands.
After 8 months there, she moved to Oldies-formatted WOL-AM, Washington, D.C.
A little under a year later, she was hired to do overnights at WQHT Hot 103.5 FM, New York.
She moved over to WPLJ 95.5 FM doing the 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. slot.
Next, Wendy was lured over to WRKS 98.7 KISS-FM to do 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Williams continued to move to more prominent air shifts.
From 1995 to 1998 she worked at WQHT-FM, Hot 97, New York before moving in 1998 to WUSL-FM, Power 99 in Philadelphia.
In 2001 she returned to New York to work for her current employer, WBLS-FM.
In July 2009 Williams announced she would leave WBLS-FM to devote herself to her new TV show.
Claim To Fame: Wendy Williams is often called a "shock jock diva", a "radio gossip guru" and even the "Queen of Urban Radio". Wendy has been known to "out" gay celebrities.
Awards: Williams has won "Radio Personality of the Year" awards from Billboard Magazine, Black Radio Exlusive and Radio & Records Magazine
