Tony Snow

Personal: Tony Snow was born June 1, 1955 in Berea, Kentucky. He received his Bachelor of Arts in philosophy from Davidson College and did graduate work in philosophy and economics at the University of Chicago. In 1987, he married his wife Jill and had three children. Snow died July 12, 2008 from complications related to cancer.

Radio: While at Fox News, Tony Snow was the host of "The Tony Snow Show" on FOX News Radio and "Weekend Live with Tony Snow" on the Fox News Channel. Snow left his nationally syndicated show in April, 2006, to become The White House Press Secretary for President George W. Bush. He subsequently stepped down from the position in September, 2007, to re-enter the private sector.

Before being given his own radio show, Snow frequently served as a guest host for Rush Limbaugh on his nationally syndicated program.

In April, 2008, Snow joined CNN as a political commentator.

Newspaper/TV: In 1979, Snow began his career in as a journalist working for newspapers including The Greensboro Record, The Norfolk Virginian-Pilot, The Daily Press (Newport News, Virginia), The Detroit News, and The Washington Times.

He took a two-year break from journalism to serve as the speech writer and later as deputy assistant to the president for Media Affairs for President George H.W. Bush.

From 1996 to 2003 he anchored FOX News Sunday. Snow also wrote a syndicated newspaper column, which appeared in more than 200 papers across the nation from 1993 to 2002.
