Howard Stern

Born: January 12, 1954 in Jackson Heights, New York

Education: In 1976, Stern graduated with a degree in Communications from Boston University, Magna cum laude

Personal: Married Alison Berns in 1978, who divorced him in 2001. He remarried on October3, 2008 to Beth Ostrosky at Le Cirque restaurant in midtown Manhattan.

National syndication: The Howard Stern Show debuted in Philadelphia in 1986 and went on to air in markets across the United States, mostly on radio stations owned by Infinity Broadcasting (Now CBS Radio)

Stern began broadcasting his show on SIRIUS Satellite Radio January 9, 2006. His $500 million dollar deal (+ stock bonuses) make Stern the highest paid radio personality in the U.S.

Claim To Fame: The first recognized "Shock Jock" (although there are those who will argue Don Imus precluded him)

Movie: His best seller, "Private Parts" was made into a movie in 1998

Claim To More Fame: In 2000 he was #30 on the Forbes Power List.

Quote: "I always resented the label of 'shock jock' that the press came up with for me," Howard Stern has said, "because I never intentionally set out to shock anybody.
