Scott Shannon
Beginnings: First Radio job was at age 17 in Mobile, Alabama. He moved on to Memphis, Nashville, Atlanta, and Washington, D.C. By the early 1980s, he was in Tampa, Florida where he co-created, with Cleveland Wheeler, the "ZOO" concept for morning Radio.
His success there brought him to New York to program and perform on Z100. He was then lured to Los Angeles where he created Pirate Radio, a somewhat lesser success.
Shannon went back to New York in 1991 for a position with WPLJ-FM, where he still works today as "Scott" in "The Big Show With Scott and Todd".
Awards: Named by "Radio & Records" as "Most Influential Programmer of the Past 20 Years". He has also won Billboard Magazine's "Air Personality of the Year" several times: 1988, 1993, 1994 and 1995.
