Sara Cox
Personal: Born: December 13, 1974 in Bolton, England. She enjoys swimming and cooking. Cox left school at age 18 for a modeling career. In 1994, while a model, she was noticed and offered work as a television presenter on "The Girly Show". In 1999, she worked for a short while on Channel 4's "The Big Breakfast" program.
Radio: Cox went to Radio 1 in 1999 and began work as a co-presenter with Emma B on the Saturday lunchtime show. She also began to present with Dr. Mark Hamilton on a show called "Sunday Surgery", dedicated to helping listeners with personal problems.
At this writing, Sara Cox is only the second female presenter to be featured on the "Radio 1 Breakfast Show". She began there on March 31, 2000.
Awards: In 2000, Cox was presented the Sony Gold Radio Award for Public Service
